The Start to a Flight Attendant Career

Have you ever dreamed about being a flight attendant? How do you imagine your flight attendant career would begin?

Imagine if at your last job interview, you were judged on poise and personality rather than your education or qualifications. As a flight attendant, appearance is a qualification, and so is poise and personality. Not only would you be under intense scrutiny at your interview, you would be one of many, many other individuals applying for the same position.

If you managed to be selected as a candidate for this job, you would then begin training at the airline’s designated flight attendant school. You’re not really hired, but you would attend weeks of intensive training, probably unpaid, in hopes you would make it through. If you passed multiple tests throughout the course designed to eliminate you, you would then be allowed to work on reserve status.

On reserve status, you would fill in for others on short notice wherever you were needed. Imagine the details of your flight attendant blog as you were shuffled around day after day, week after week. After at least a year, you could bid for preferred assignments, but it would take years of building up seniority before you could fly wherever you pleased.
